The Center for Conservation Leadership (CCL) began with the insight that a student who has learned from the natural world is the adult that will care for the natural world. CCL’s innovative efforts to connect students in Lake County with their environment through environmental education and stewardship opportunities has become the model for programs throughout the state.

 

In 2024, the legacy of CCL’s original vision continues in our work with Waukegan High School students and the CCL capstone trip to Yellowstone. Marking its 14th year, this program has proven that a student who has learned from the natural world is the adult that will care for the natural world. READ MORE
